Ammara Brown DF2017 kenynote speaker


Ammara Brown is a multi award winning Zimbabwean singer, instrumentalist, dancer,
songwriter, producer, actress, brand ambassador, and philanthropist. With her star rising,
she is fast becoming a household name, and the bold & energetic voice of a new generation.

In the build up to her debut album ‘Ammartia’, she released the Afro-pop flavoured
dance anthem ‘Mafaro’, which she followed up with the 2014 chart topping love song ‘Kure
Kure’. Recorded alongside Zimbabwean superstar Jah Prayzah, which debuted and ammassed over 20 000 views within it’s first two weeks online.

Ammara has gone on to perform on many international stages such as Sauti Za Busara and HIFA and in 2015 graced the prestigeous Joburg Theatre in the multi-award nominated “Colour Me Human”.

Her 2016 duet with Tytan, “Mukoko”, has topped all local charts quite rapidly, thanks to her legion adoring of fans. Affectionately known as her “Ammartians”, they had the Mukoko music video on over 25,000 views in 48 hours. Later, another African hit was born in the form of “Bhachura” which featured Ammara alongside Zimbababwean rapper ExQ. The collabo was yet another instant hit, and the music video made the Top 10 on Trace Africa and sits on nearly 1 milion Youtube views.
In 2017, Ammara won the Outstanding Female Musician Award at the prestigious National
Arts Merits Awards (NAMA’s) and recently made the KORA’s Top 20 African Artists of the
Moment List.



Samm Farai Monro AKA Comrade Fatso is one of Zimbabwe’s trailblazing comedians, a leading activist for freedom of expression and a media disruptor. Comrade Fatso is founder of Magamba Network, one of Zimbabwe’s most dynamic organizations working on the cutting edge of culture, media, activism and innovation.

Magamba’s award-winning media projects include the internationally acclaimed Zambezi News satire show, the weekly political news show The Week and the pioneering citizen journalism projects Open Parly and Kalabash Media.

Tinashe Nyaruwanga - Social Media Expert


Tinashe is a reputable Zimbabwe Social Media expert, speaker, trainer, digital strategist and recognized Digital Marketing Practitioner and Content Creator.

He has worked with various organisations in the Corporate, NGO and religious world, including but not limited to Hivos Southern Africa, Steward Bank, Doves, Marketers Association of Zimbabwe, Zimnat, JCI, Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Cooperative Development and many more.


Joseph is the Executive Producer and mastermind behind Battle of the Chefs Zimbabwe, currently in it’s third season Sponsored by TM Pick n Pay (8th biggest Retailer in Africa).

Joseph is also the founder of Open Doors Initiative a project designed to find and launch 10 Television Shows from grassroots using the experience gained while creating a successful advertiser funded program.  He is passionate about technology, media and empowerment.

He has been active in the Start Up space for several years and continues to try and find models that work in Africa.  He is currently spearheading the expansion of Battle of the Chefs into Africa.

Nico Abote is a passionate TV Producer/Broadcaster who has worked as a producer & senior editor for various TV stations & TV productions houses in Zimbabwe and Africa.

Nico co-founded an Online Web-TV platform, an online video on demand start-up with the mandate of telling African Inspired stories.

Currently, he is the Managing Executive Producer at one of Zimpapers’ TV projects, Zimpapers TV Network (ZTN) & he is responsible for the business and content production portfolio. Nico loves to engage in Social commentary driven by truth, positive energy and possible solutions, he has appeared on a number of TV and Radio shows as a guest pushing for dialogue and discussions on issues affecting the community, nation or individuals.


Vannessa is a Marketing Director and Chief Operations Officer for the Day care centre Aayah’s Playcentre which she founded in 2016. She worked at Divaris schools for 3 years and in 2016 founded her own skin care like NaturElle, a founder of LGS bags and a board member of N.I.A.G (Native Investments Africa Group).

Responsible for Pinnacle, Divaris Makaharis school and BlackForby primary school. Her educational background includes a Double major in Advertising and Marketing and Management. With 6 years experience in the field of direct marketing and social media marketing.


Maud is an advocate for education of underprivileged children and girl rights, using her story of overcoming a tough upbringing to become a history-maker to inspire the old and young alike.

Lucky Aaroni is the co founder/Producer/Social Media Administrator of Bustop TV and a filmmaker by profession. He has over a decade experience in the media.

Before being part of Bustop Tv he was involved in the production of documentaries and freelance photography for Daily News, Newsday and Harare News.

He is also a director and an actor. Some of the biggest highlights of his careers so far, have been working at Made in Africa, the media house which produced Minibuzz . He has also been the official cinematographer at the last edition of Shoko Festival and has been filming The Week, a weekly comical report on Zimbabwe’s current affairs. He is Shoko Festival Hub winner for Best Use of Film and Photography 2015 and Best Video and Photography Journalist
